    Interview: 10 questions

    1. When did you start making music, what is/was your motivation to do it?

I first started making music/sound for my video & installations. In 2004 I started to work with videos and decided to go a step beyond from just images to adding sounds.

    2. Tell me something about your living environment and the musical education.

I have no prior musical education. Both of my degrees are in fine arts. I think my only connection to music is that my mother is classical trained pianist.

    3. Is making music your profession? What is the context in which you practice music nowadays?

Making music is not my profession. Fine artist is my profession. I guess looking from that perspective I am a sound artist.

    4. How do you compose or create music or sound? Have you certain principles, use certain styles etc?

Most of my sound is produced in a computer with different programs. I also use different sound effects files for films. The kind of methods I use is dictated by the message I am trying to convey. My artwork and installations are conceptually based so most of the ideas behind the projects dictate my instruments and tools used.

    5. Tell me something about the instruments, technical equipment or tools you use?

    SAME AS ABOVE

    6. What are the chances of New Media for the music production in general and You personally?

I think artist have only began to fully explore the field so the possibilities are infinite.

    7. How about producing and financing your musical productions?

I lot of my money goes into producing my sound art and installation. Of course there are the occasional grants and stipends offered by galleries and different organizations.

    8. Do you work individually as a musician/soundartist or in a group or collaborative?

I work individually as a sound artist. Although, I am a part of a performance art group and lately I have been entertaining the idea of working collaborative with other sound artist in a group environment.

    9. Is there any group, composer, style or movement, which has a lasting influence on making music?

I cannot limit myself to one group, composer, and style. I get inspirations from too many different sources. For example yesterday while riding my bike to work, the squeaking sounds coming from my bike chain in combination with a faint sound of music coming from another car was all I need for an idea to spark.

    10. What are your future plans or dreams as a sound artist or musician?

My plan is to keep myself constantly busy making sound art and putting it out there for people to experience.
